  • Notes: Extensive Cased Caddis found in Little Naches. Mayfly activity on the surface (egg laying). No fish observed in either river until later in the afternoon on the Little Naches, once I switched to the Stimmy. Half dozen young trout caught in 30 minutes, on the stimmy.

  • Notes: Extensive Cased Caddis, still. Mayfly activity on the surface (egg laying). No fish observed in either river until within an hour of sundown, then Mayfly hatch and spinner fall. Active surface feeding in the same pool as previous success, with some fish caught on mostly Stimmy and Adams (P).

  • At this water level, the tailout from the riffles becomes significantly more calm, allowing for a fairly clean drift of a dry fly, even when cast up to the base of the riffle.
