Front Half of the Week

Good evening!

Finally have the upload sorted, at least for the moment, so it’s time to catch up a bit.

Good drive, earlier this week. Started windy and clear, but proceeded to get cloudy as I approached the pass. Nothing too bad, and certainly nothing that could dampen the feel of the soundtrack I had running through the sound system, so easy enough to just keep going.

I stopped at the same spot where I had taken the early morning pic, the beginning of last week, of the still pool and trees/mountains, beyond.

Beautiful spot to pause and relax.

Continuing West, the cloud cover got a bit broken,  allowing for one of my favorite effects from the rising mists: the almost ghostly trees on the slopes.

A wider view, with a bit more depth, also presented itself, moving through the pass.

As with most of my recent drives, there had to be a stop at the recently discovered (at least by me) fishing spot.

The river was flowing at roughly 950cfs, and the rain kicked up, so no chance to take a break and wet a line, but stopping to finish a coffee and just listen to the water was a great recharge.

Given the initial cloudiness of the day, the periods of rain, and the wind that seemed to just keep stirring up both, as the day went on, I was very happy to see that an area well out of Seattle proper might have a bit of a break, late in the day.

Good excuse for a drive.

A bit if patience (yeah, still learning that) really paid off, I think.

The spot I chose required either standing on a picnic table or bench, to get my view above a set of power lines, or getting right to the edge of a drop-off and sitting on moist grass, to zoom the view under them.

Jeans are made for whatever needs to be done, anyway, right? Moist grass won out.

I hope everyone is having a good week.

Oh, and I was also notified that my new waders arrived! Very much looking forward to breaking these in, soon!

Don’t worry, I’ll let you know how that goes.

Tight lines…
