Holiday Update 2021

Here we are, in the festive gap between Thanksgiving and Christmas, with the pull to move forward and (at least for me) the residual Full Stomach urge to lag behind and enjoy where we are … or have been.

Thanksgiving Dinner was, as has become the tradition in our household, Cajun!

From left to right, we have Crawfish Etoufee, Shrimp Gumbo, Oyster Dressing, Spicey Maple Bourbon Pecans (behind the Dressing) and Jicama/Apple Slaw. Top it off with a nice bottle of Sparkling wine. I was trusted with the pecans and wine…so the rest of the meal was amazing!

Today, after a day of food-coma recovery and a bit of work (has to happen, right?), it was Tree time.

First Christmas for our Maine Coon, so we shall see if he allows the tree to remain standing, unmodified, and accessible to humans (he might just get possessive, once there are presents under the tree).

This morning was also an amazing sunrise, which I have set up as a separate page. You can find the 32 best images, here.

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving, is preparing for an excellent Christmas, and is already into a very relaxing weekend.

Tight lines…
