It remains…elsewhere

It has been some time since we moved from South-central Washington State. Some time since I had a chance to watch the first fingers of light creep into the clouds which inhabit the time before the sunrise.

This time, though, a chance to share it with my lovely wife…to mark the occasion of her having put up with me for 23 years!

So peaceful, with the gentle waves whispering to us.

From there, and there were some earlier shots that just ended up too grainy, the color started to spread and grow…

…until the first rim of the sun found the gap between the horizon and the clouds that waited to receive the morning color.

The thing about these long cloud formations, of course, is that you get the occasional chance to peek through them, as the sun tries to rise, only to get lost behind the wall of grey.

Eventually, what is almost a second sunrise presents itself, if one is patient.

From there, a bite to eat, a walk on the beach, and the day begins to wake up.

After that, a visit to the local cemetery (not quite All Souls Day, but we weren’t going to be able to stay another day).

We both loved how much this looked like it should be in NOLA.

Take care, my friends, and remember to celebrate the things that matter.

Tight lines…
