Someday … +24

It’s been a long three weeks, plus a few days, since we got hit at the red light. As with my previous experiences in Martial Arts, the body has a weird way of delaying the sensations created by rough treatment.

It’s not the day of, unless there are breaks or other highly specific trauma.

It’s not the next day, either. The body makes you think, on that next day, that you are at least doing fine. Sometimes, you feel better than the day before the … whatever … happened.

The body lies.

It’s not until the second day after that you get the beginning of the truth from it.

As I said, it’s been a long three weeks, plus a few days, but progress has been made.

The truck? Insurance called this past Friday, and wanted to talk about processing it as a total loss. The impact put an unrepairable bend in the frame, to the extent that the bed was creased where the frame buckled up.

It was a good truck. Lots of trips to various rivers. Got us safely through Black Ice on I-90, at 6am…

Still seem to enjoy the sunrises a bit more, these days.

Enjoying the onset of spring in the trees around the house.

And the wildlife around us.

It’s a good place to be, and getting better all the time.

Just over 47 days until Fly Fishing kicks off, again. Very much looking forward to getting into a river and feeling the cool pressure against my legs…

Tight lines…

  1. Martial Arts? What? What kind of horrible person would do significant damage to you in martial arts? That would be terrible!

Glad you’re all ok, if a bit banged up.
